Put on the garment of praise
Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for morning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified

Putting on a garment requires effort. I believe the term “putting on a garment of praise” is used in the verse above because sometimes you may not feel like praising God but make an effort to. Your circumstances may make praise impossible but still make the effort to praise God. Your voice may be hoarse from weeping or crying out to God. Yet still find a way to praise God.

Why? This is because praise:
– Pulls down strongholds, praise brought down the great wall of Jericho (Joshua 6:20)
-Praise is a two-edged sword, it can be used to attack the enemy and defend us from the enemy (Psalm 149:6)
– God loves praises. The bible says God inhabits our praise. Also the four and twenty elders never cease to praise and worship God in heaven (Revelation 4:10)

Ephesians 5:19
Speaking to yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

This verse from the new testament admonishes us to sing and make melody to the Lord.

Praising God should be a habit. It should be part of your agenda each day. Praise gives you the victory even before it actually happens

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Memorize the Psalms and as many praise songs as possible to enrich your praise.
2. Learn to praise God for every blessing,big or small.
