Psalm 139:23
Search me, Oh God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts
Humans are naturally drawn to sin but the grace and mercy of God helps to keep us away from sin when we are born again.
Therefore, it is necessary for us to pray and ask God from time to time to search our hearts and thoughts, and convict us of our sins. Then we can repent, confess our sins and ask God to forgive us and cleanse us from all sin.
1 Thessalonians 2:4
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust of the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth (searched) our hearts.
The verse above also confirms that God tries or searches our hearts, so that at all times we may seek to please Him.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Cultivate the habit of praying for God to help you recognize your sins.
2. Study the bible so that you may know what to do in order to please God at all times.

Dear God, I bless and praise your Holy name. Please help to detect temptations to sin and show me how to overcome them. Amen.
