Seek to excel in all you do
Psalm 119:99
I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation

The Psalmist is not trying to brag but he is only emphasizing the fact that when you study and apply the word of God you gain more wisdom.

Meditating on scripture or testimony as stated in the verse above involves memorizing scripture and thinking deeply about how you can apply it to your life.

If you obey and apply scripture to your life, you will excel in all you do. You will prosper and have good success as Joshua 1:8 says.

1Corinthians 14:12
Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to excel to the edifying of the church.

Apart from gaining wisdom and success from meditating on the word, you also grow spiritually and develop spiritual gifts.

You should also seek to excel in the use of these gifts to edify the church or bring improvement to worship in church.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Whenever you read the bible consider how you can apply it to your life to make you a better christian.
For example when you read
1 Thessalonians 5:17 it says

Pray without ceasing

You can apply this by making a conscious effort to pray morning, afternoon and evening.

Prayer
Let this be your prayer

Keep me shinning Lord
In all I say and do
That the world may see
Christ lives in me
And learn to love Him too. Amen.
