Seek to know the Lord intimately

1 Chronicles 28:9
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek Him, He will be found of thee, but if thou forsake Him, He will cast thee off forever.

I have come across two major kinds of Christians:
– Those who serve God faithfully and joyfully because they have had a personal experience of the Lord’s power
– Those who serve God without commitment or joy because they have not had a personal encounter with God. They rely on other people’s experiences.

In the verse above King David directs his son Solomon to seek to know God for himself. That is good advice for every Christian. We should all desire and pray to have a personal encounter with God.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Whilst waiting and praying to have a personal encounter with God, believe without any doubt that God exists and He has great power you also want to experience.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. A personal encounter with God could be:
– Experiencing complete healing after praying
– Being saved from a terrible accident that might have claimed other lives
– Getting a financial breakthrough like getting a big contract or promotion etc.

Prayer

Almighty God, you are God and there is none like you. Receive all the praise and honour you deserve. Help me experience your power in a special way. Amen.
