Take my life
Joshua 3:5
Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate (sanctify) yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
There is a Methodist hymn that says
Take my life and let it be Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in ceaseless praise. This is a song that gives or dedicates your life completely to God. It should be the child of God or christian’s prayer each morning.
According to the verse above we should consecrate or sanctify(clear our ourselves of all sin, by repenting and asking for forgiveness from God). When we do this, God will do wonders among us or bless us abundantly. God is holy and cannot move when we harbor sin in our lives.
Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
After sanctifying ourselves we also need to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God. This implies that we should be ready and willing to obey God no matter the cost. For instance you take a long time to save money for a project. Just as you are about to use the money, you meet someone who needs food, clothing and shelter urgently (sick and close to death because he,/she has no food, clothing or shelter). Will you sacrifice your money to help this in person? You know God will provide for you too but you do not know when or how. Remember Matthew 6:25 and 33.
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Be ready to help as many people as possible. The bible says whatsoever you do to the least of your brethren, that you do unto me. Matthew 25:35-40
2. Presenting the message of salvation to as many people as possible is also important.
3. Live to please God at all times.
Prayer
Almighty God, you are great and greatly to be praised. Take my life and use me as you will. Amen.
