The day of the Lord
Zephaniah 1:14-15
The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness.
Please continue reading Zephaniah 2:16-18. It describes how terrible the day of the Lord will be. After the rapture (Matthew 24:40-44, 1 Corinthians 15:52-58) when the dead in Christ and the living in Christ shall rise and meet the Lord in the air, then those left behind, Christians and unbelievers would be left to face the great tribulation or the day of the Lord described in the passage above. It will be a terrible time and it is better to be taken in the rapture than to be left behind. If you do not make the rapture, it will be very difficult to be saved in the day of the Lord.
1Thessalonians 5:2-3
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh like a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
The time and hour of the return of the Lord is not known by anyone. We have to be ready at all times. It can happen any day.
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Always aim at pleasing God in all you do.
2. You do this by studying the Bible and praying for God to help you obey all His commands.
Prayer
Loving Father, receive all the praise, worship and adoration you deserve. Help me to obey all your commands. Amen.
