The Lord is my light
Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Light gives direction in darkness . This is one of the major uses of light. Even a small flame or spark of fire makes a lot of difference in pitch darkness.

God makes a lot of difference in every individual’s life when he or she receives the gift of salvation.

God is like light in our lives.
He shows us what to and how to do it in order for us to excel. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.

Psalm 119:105 says
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

God gives us direction through his word. He is our light, therefore, we need not fear like Psalm 27:1 says.

Matthew 5:14
Ye are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

If God is our light, then we christians are also a light to the world. We show others what is right and what is wrong by obeying what the word of God directs us to do

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Set a good example by being obedient to the word of God.

Meditate on the words of this song

The Lord is my light and my salvation
Whom shall I fear?
He’s the strength of my life
Day and night
No need to be afraid

I have a secret place
Where I seek God’s face
And He gives me strength to carry on
He carries me
Over mountains high
He comforts me
In the valley
When I’m going through a storm
He protects me in His arms
That is the reason why I say
The Lord is my light
And my salvation…
