The Lord is our peace

Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

Peace can be defined as freedom from disturbance or trouble, tranquility. It is only when we trust in God that we can experience true peace.

In John 16:33, Jesus says:
I have told you these things so that in me you will have peace, in this world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (paraphrased)

This implies that there are things that would disturb our peace or make us anxious but in Christ we can have and find peace.

Ephesians 2:14
For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.

Jesus has already put in place all we need to experience peace. When we are born again the Holy Spirit comes to live in us and comforts us.

How can we apply the word to our lives?
1. When we feel anxious lets do what Philippians 4:6-7 says
Have no anxiety about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known unto God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
