The origin of quite time

The origin of quiet time
Psalm 5:3
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, Oh Lord; in the morning will I order my prayer unto thee , and will keep watch

Quiet time or morning devotion is a regular individual time you spend in the presence of God , studying the word of God and praying for strength and guidance for the day.

The verse above indicates that the Psalmist spent time regularly in the morning communicating with God.

Quiet times are very important because you have to thank God for the gift of life and pray for strength, protection and guidance throughout the day.

The verse above also confirms that quiet time is an old practice of the Israelites and people of God in the old testament.

Mark 1:35
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.

In the verse above, our Lord Jesus teaches us the importance of having the quiet time, early in the morning before everyone wakes up and there is a lot of noise.

It also stresses the importance of being alone in a quiet place where no one can distract you.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Cultivate the habit of having your quiet time daily.
2. Furthermore, try to wake-up early so you can have a longer and more fulfilling time in the presence of God.
3. Get a quiet time guide or book to help you with what to read and commentaries on the significance of the word you read.
