The significance of Easter
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him strike, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgression, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes, we are healed.
The passage above is the Prophet Isaiah’s prophecy about the death of Jesus and what it would do for us. It would bring forgiveness of sin, peace, and healing. Furthermore, it will reconcile man to God and give us hope for a better future in heaven.
His prophecy came true and now anyone who accepts Christ as Saviour will have forgiveness of sin, peace, healing, reconciliation with God, and hope for a better future in heaven.
When we celebrate Easter we thank God for the sacrifice of His Son and what it brought to us.
John 11:25-26
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believers thou this?
Jesus did not only die, He rose from the dead, and He is still alive today pleading on our behalf to the Father to give us another chance whenever we fall. Because He lives, we also live and we can face whatever the future has in store for us.
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Believe without any doubt that because Jesus lives, you can face whatever, the future has for you.
Prayer
Father, this is our confession:
Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
Because Christ lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth a living just because He lives. Amen.
