Daily Word

The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak
Psalm 119:35
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.

The NIV translation of the verse above says
Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. This implies that the Psalmist was aware that though he wanted to obey God’s commands, his flesh or desires might prevent him from obeying God’s commands, therefore, he needed guidance and direction.

We are all like the Psalmist, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Let us call on the Lord daily to give us the grace and strength to obey His commands.

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray so that you will do not fall into temptation. The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

This verse also emphasizes the fact that we need to pray constantly and be alert, to prevent us from falling into temptation or disobeying God. One way of keeping away from sin or preventing ourselves from falling into temptation is to occupy ourselves and not stay idle. There is a proverbs that says the devil finds work for idle hands.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Plan your activities for each day. You can choose to pray or read the bible during your free time or break time.
2. You could also listen to christian music from your phone or read christian literature.

Prayer
Faithful God, thank you for the gift of another day. Help me to obey your commands at all times. Amen
