We are heirs of the Father
Isaiah 43:1
But now thus says the Lord, He who created you O Jacob, He who formed you O Israel: “Fear not, for I have called you by name, you are mine

The people of Israel are God’s chosen people. Jesus Christ our Messiah’s family line can be traced in Israel. This is confirmed in the verse above.

The Israelites are therefore naturally God’s children and heirs ( one legally entitled to a family’s possession, the next of kin) with Christ to God’s property.

The Gentiles or the rest of the world have also become heirs of the Father through the acceptance of the gift of salvation. All Christians are therefore, co- heirs with Christ.

Romans 8:17
Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co- heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His suffering I order that we may also share in His glory..

This verse from the new testament confirms we are co- heirs with Christ. It also gives another dimension of being heirs.

If we share in Christ’s suffering by fulfilling the “Great Commission” of winning souls for the kingdom of God no matter the cost. Some of the costs are:
– Rejection
– Ridicule
– Persecution
– False accusations etc.

Then we can also share in His glory ( Matthew 5:10-12)

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Be ready and willing to share in the suffering of the Lord.

We are children of the kingdom
We are family
We are one
