What a friend we have in Jesus
Proverbs 17:17
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity

The verse above says a friend is someone who loves at all times. Whether you reciprocate the love or not does not matter to the person. He or she is with you through thick and thin

Meaning the person is by your side in good times and bad times. Romans 8:28 says
For we know that all things work together for the good of them that love God who are called according to His purpose.

The Lord is with us all the time. This is confirmed in Joshua 1:9 and Matthew 28:20
…for I am with you, whithersoever thou goest (Joshua 1:9)
…….lo, I am with you alway even till the end of the age( Matthew 28:20)

John 15:15.
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what His Lord doeth,: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known to you

In the verse above Jesus calls us His friends because He does not treat us ( Christians) as servants but as friends, He shares whatever, the Father tells Him with us.

Jesus is the friend who will never let you down. Human friends are good but they are humans with faults and limitations like you and they will let you down sometimes.

Put all your trust in Jesus and allow human friends to support you when they can given their strengths and weaknesses
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in Jesus at all times.

Think about the words of this hymn

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and grieves to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer

Are we weak and heavy ladened?
Cumbered with a load care
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Precious Savior still out refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer
