What do you believe?

Psalm 27:13
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

When someone poses the question, What do you believe? He/she wants to know what you place your faith or confidence in. Do you believe in God, mammon, or any other deity?

In the verse above, the Psalmist’s confidence or faith is in the Lord. He is looking forward to His goodness or blessings. No matter what challenge or temptation he faces He believes the Lord will see him through.

1Peter 5:7 says
Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.

John 14:1-2
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go and prepare a place for you

Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He assured His disciples that He was going to prepare a place for them, then He will come back for them.

This is the hope of all Christians. We believe we will spend eternity with God in heaven some day.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Take time to think over what you believe in. If you are not sure of what you believe, consider surrendering your life to God.
2. Accept the gift of salvation and live as a christian, believing that you will see the goodness of God in the land of the living and you will spend eternity with God in heaven.

Let this song be your confession

I believe in God the Father
Maker of the universe
And in Christ His Son
our Saviour
Came to us by virgin birth
I believe He died to save us
Bore our sins was crucified
Then He rose again victorious
Ascended to the Father side
Jesus, the Lord of all.
Lord of all.
