Where is your treasure?

Jeremiah 17:9-10
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planteth by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf is green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Your treasure is something that is valuable to you or very important to you. It is something or someone you spend a lot of time with, spend a lot of money on, handle with care and treasure in your heart.

Psalm 20:7 says
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Meaning, some treasure or value their possessions like horses, chariots, houses, land, cars etc but we Christians and children of God value or put all our trust in the Lord our God.

The same message is given in the passage above from Jeremiah. When you put your trust in God instead of your possessions you are blessed abundantly and you become fruitful or successful in all your endeavors

Matthew 6:20-21
But lay up for yourself treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also

This passage from the new testament explains why we should not treasure or put all our trust in earthly possessions. They are perishable, they can be destroyed by moth, rust, floods, fire or stolen by thieves.

It is therefore important to build treasure in heaven where nothing can destroy it or take away from us.

What are some of the heavenly treasures we can store up? It includes:
– Souls we win here on earth for the kingdom of God.
-Preparing our souls for life in heaven through praise , worship and thanksgiving, studying the word and fasting.

Beloved in the Lord store up treasure in heaven so that you can enjoy a life of bliss in Heaven with the Lord
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Serve God faithfully and sincerely .
