Daily Word

Why did Jesus come?
Isaiah 9:7
Of the increase of His government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over His kingdom to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness, from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of host will do this.

One of the major reasons Jesus came is to:
– To reign as King
The Lord created the world and all that is within it, therefore, He deserves to reign as King. He is the best ruler we can have because He is righteous, just and full of love and mercy.

Galatians 4:4-5
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His son, born of woman, born under the law, so we may receive adoption as sons. And because we are sons, God has sent the spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying Abba! Father! So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

This passage gives two other reasons why Christ came:
– To redeem those under the law.
– To give us full rights of sons
All those who receive the gift of salvation are redeemed and given the right to be sons of God. As we celebrate Christmas let take time to thank God for the gift of His son and the peace and salvation He brought us.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Remember to give the Lord the thanks, praise and worship He deserves as our king and redeemer.
2. Take time to offer thanks, praise and worship each morning as you celebrate Christmas and enjoy the holidays.

Prayer
Loving Father, I bless and praise your holy name. Thank you for the gift of salvation. Amen.
