Wonder working power in the blood
Exodus 12:13
And the blood shall be to you a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you….
In the old testament, blood was used to seal covenants. For cleansing the Israelites had to sacrifice bulls and goats. Sacrifices were made for Thanksgiving and other covenants as well.
In the verse above God asked the Israelites to paint their doorposts to signify that they had a covenant with Him to save them from the deadliest plague He inflicted on the Egyptians.
God said, when I see the blood, I will pass over you.
Many years after, God presented the blood of Jesus as the standard for the remission or pardon for sin. This unlike the frequent sacrifice of bulls and goats was a one time sacrifice for past, present and future sins.
There is indeed, wonder working power in the blood of the lamb or blood of Jesus
Hebrews 9:22
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin
This verse from the new testament reminds us that without the shedding of the blood of Jesus, there would be no pardon for sin.
Beloved in the Lord, the bible says in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. It also says in Romans 3:23 that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
You need to accept the
gift of salvation in order to receive pardon for all your sins and place you blameless before God. This is your license to eternal life with God in heaven after life here on earth
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Make sure you accept the gift of salvation
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this hymn
Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o’er evil
a victory win?
There’s wonderful power in the blood
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the blood of the lamb
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the precious blood of the lamb.
Amen
