Wounded for me
Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed
“Wounded for me” means, the suffering and pain Christ went through on the cross was for me and you.
It:
– Bought our freedom from the evil one
– Brought us forgiveness of sins from God and cleansing
– Reconciled us to God
– Healed all our infirmities.
The Apostle Paul said in 1 Timothy 1:15-17 that
Christ died for sinners of whom I am chief.
You and I are important to God, that is why He drew salvation’s plan.
1 Peter 2:24
Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness by whose stripes ye are healed
This verse from the new testament is similar to the one in Isaiah 53:5.
Everything Jesus did on the cross as well as His death and resurrection was for our good
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, He will not let you down.
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this hymn
Wounded for, wounded for me
There on the cross He was wounded for me
Gone my transgressions and now I am free
All because Jesus was wounded for me
Amen
