Ye are the salt of the earth
Leviticus 2:13
And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

The verse above is talking about salt as a spice that makes food taste better.

As Christians who are the salt of the earth we are supposed to help make life better for our neighbors. Give people hope for a better life in the kingdom of God

We can do this by witnessing and helping others receive the gift of salvation for a better life.

John 15:7 says
If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will and it shall be done unto you ( paraphrased)

John 14:1-4 tells us that our Lord Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven where we will spend eternity.

Matthew 5:13
Ye are the salt of the earth,: but if salt has lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is henceforth good for nothing but to cast out, and to be trodden under the foot of men.

A part from making life better or filling life with hope, as salt of the earth we are:
– Supposed to help heal the world from pain, hardship and disease. (Salt is medicine that heals wounds) This can also be done by presenting the message of salvation. Revelations 21:1-3 tells us of how we will enjoy life with God in heaven
– Also supposed to preserve the hope of the world (salt is a preservative). Letting the world know God fulfills all His promises in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:1-11)

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray that God helps you fulfill your mission as the salt of the world.
