IN NOTHING TERRIFIED BY YOUR ADVERSARIES
IN NOTHING TERRIFIED BY YOUR ADVERSARIES
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
And in nothing terrified by your adversaries; which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
The good news version of the verse above says! Don’t be afraid of your enemies; always be courageous, and this will prove to them that they will lose and that you will win, because it is God who gives you the victory.
Why is the bible saying we should not be terrified or intimidated by our enemies (adversaries)? This is because while “faith” stimulates or brings to life positive things in your life, “fear” stimulates negative things in life.
God uses our faith, while the devil uses our fear. When you go through the bible there are several verses that begin with “Fear not” verse like Isaiah 41:10 in the old testament and 1 John 4:18 in the new testament.
To overcome fear, we must:
- Trust in God Joshua 1:9
Proverbs 3:5-6
Psalms 56:3
Revelations 2:10
- We must accept and rely on God’s love
Jeremiah 31:3
John 3:16
1 John 4:18
Trust in God
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.
God assured us in the verse above that there is no need to fear, He is always with us, no matter where we go.
Why do you have to fear when God Almighty the creator of Heaven and earth, and the God for whom nothing is too hard for Him to do is with you? All you need to do is trust Him, He has already conquered.
Satan refer to Genesis 1, Jeremiah 32:27, Matthew 28:18
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
In order to overcome fear, the passage above says:
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart that is, believe in the ability of God without having doubts
- Lean not on your own understanding, that is do not depend own intelligence, strength or abilities
- In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. That is, commit everything you do unto God’s hands and He will lead you to success.
Psalm 56:3
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee, according to the verse above, when you feel afraid, trust in God, rely on God, seek help from God and obey His words and commands.
Revelations 2:10
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer,
…be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee the crown of life.
This verse says fear nothing the devil throws at you, focus on being faithful to God till the end and He will reward you with eternal life.
We must accept and rely on God’s love
Jeremiah 31:3
The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore, with loving kindness have I drawn thee.
In the verse above, God says He has loved us with everlasting love. A love that never ends and is not affected by anything we do. If God loves us so much, we need not fear because He will let no harm befall us.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Such amazing love described in the verse above will ensure that you are fully protected from all harm. Therefore, there is no need to fear.
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: Because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. God’s love for us is perfect, it lacks nothing. He will protect us completely from our adversaries. Amen
Trust in God and in His great love for mankind and He will save you from all your adversaries.
