The Lord will be thy sun and shield
Psalm 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
I believe the Lord God being your sun and shield means God will lighten our path and show us the way. He does this He will also protect us or shield us from evil.
The bible says in Matthew 7:13 that
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
If the road to heaven is narrow then we would need the Lord to be our sun and shield because narrow roads are normally dark and dangerous.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray that God would help you stay on the narrow road that leads to heaven.
2. The road to heaven is said to be narrow because it is not easy to obey all God’s commandments and do His will at all times.
3. Ask God to help you obey His commands and do the right thing always.
Prayer
Lord God, thank you that you continue to guard and protect me all times. Be my sun and shield throughout the day.
