In His Time
In His Time
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the sun.
Another translation says;
Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses. (Good News translation w/Apocrypha)
This means that everything happens in God’s time. Man cannot change God’s timing because He can see into the future, and knows what you need now to help you get to your future destination.
If everything happens in God’s time then we must:
Wait patiently for answers to our prayers
Habakkuk 2:3-4
Delays in God’s response should not change our faith
Hebrews 10:35-39
Thank God for all things at all times
1 Thessalonians 5:18-22
Wait patiently for answers to prayer
Habakkuk 2:3-4
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it: because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him; but the just shall live by faith.
According to the promise above, the vision, promise of God, blessing from God is for an “appointed time’ that is for a particular time. It will not happen before or after that time but exactly at the scheduled time. It may delay for a long time, do not give up, keep claiming it by faith and it will come to pass.
Learn onto wait patiently for God’s timing with this mindset;
God loves you so much He wants only the best for you
Jeremiah 29:11
God will do anything it takes to keep you safe and happy
Isaiah 43:1-3
Delays in God’s response should not change our faith
Hebrews 10:35-39
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God ye might receive the promise.
For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in Him.
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
Many Christians renounce their faith because they encounter challenges and pray sometimes for several years without an answer.
It may be that they fall sick and pray for healing but get worse or they have serious financial issues, cannot pay rent or children’s school fees etc.
Some have been jobless for several years after school, have prayed but see no change.
In such instance, renouncing your faith is not the answer, you rather need god more than you ever have.
Being an active church member in such situations is very helpful. The church could give you some support financially and your friends in church can encourage you, help you pray and provide some of the things you need.
Never renounce your faith, hold onto your faith (confidence in God) until the storm in your life passes.
Thank God for all things at all times
1 Thessalonians 5:18-22
In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Quench not the spirit (grieve not the spirit).
Despise not prophesying. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
In the passage above, the Apostle Paul admonishes us to thank God in every situation. When we are in good times we thank God for the blessings and in bad times thank Him for the victory he will give us.
Furthermore, we should not quench or grieve the Holy Spirit so He can continue to comfort us and teach us all things (John 14:26)
We should also receive and pray for all prophecies on our lives to be fulfilled. Hold fast or be drawn or attracted to things that are of good report and stay away from all manner of evil.
Conclusion
Keep in mind that God is faithful and whatever He has promised in His word will come to pass in His Time.
