Whatever God doeth is forever
Whatever God doeth is forever
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God doeth, that men shall fear before him.
According to the verse above God’s decisions, actions, words and commands are final. No one can take anything out or add to it. Another translation of Ecclesiastes 3:14 says:
I perceive that whatever God does endure forever, nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it so that people fear before him. Examples of God’s decisions being final can be seen in Matthew 26:2 its says: And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying oh my father if it’s been possible, let this pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will but as thou will.
Jesus, the son of God and member of the God head or trinity could not change God’s decision to sacrifice Him for the salvation of all mankind.
Another example can be found in Jeremiah 1:7 which says: but the Lord said unto me, says not I am a child: for thou shall go to all that I said send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thy shall speak. Jeremiah was only a child, young man (youth) when God called Him. Jeremiah taught it was impossible for a young a man to connect of prophesy to kings and older people. But this did not change God’s decision and Jeremiah had no other choice but to obey. There are other examples in both the old and new Testament. What attitude should we have as Christians towards God’s commands in his words the bible?
We should
- Always obey God
1 Samuel 15:22
John 15:7
- Not depend on our own abilities
Proverbs 3:5-6
Ephesians 4:13
- Not be intimidated
Joshua 1:9
Revelations 2:10
- Seek to glorify God in all you do
Psalm 27:4
Matthew 5:15
Always obey God
1 Samuel 15:22
But Samuel replied: does the Lord delight in burnt offering and sacrifices in as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey His better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fats of rams.
In the verse above the prophet Samuel emphasize the fact that God values obedience and not sacrifices. Our lord prefers that we do his will instead of following our own fleshy desires. Why? Because Isaiah 59:1-2 says:
Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short nor His ear too dull to hear
But your iniquities have separated you from God; Your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.
According to the passage above, sin (disobedience) separates us from God and that is why He sent His son to die for us, as a once and for all sacrifice for our present, past and future sins. To bridge the gap between God and man that was created by sin.
John 15:17
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Remaining in God and allowing His words to remain in you Is equivalent to obeying God. If we want to gain God’s favor and receive His blessings as well as obtaining whatever we need from God, then we have to obey Him completely always.
Do not depend on your own abilities
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your path straight.
If you want success and longevity for all your endeavors, then commit everything you do into God’s hands. Then like the passage above says, allow God to direct and guide you. Whatever God does is forever therefore everything God directs will be successful and will last for all time.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
Nothing is impossible to those who trust the Lord and ask Him for help in all they do.
Matthew 19:26 says:
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. God has the ability to turn all impossibilities to possibilities. Trust Him at all times, He will not let you down.
Do not be intimidated
Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whitersoever thou goest.
Sometimes doing what God requires of us, put you in danger for example if you want to preach the gospel through a crusade in a village where the fetish priest and his gods are in control you will face spiritual attacks. But do not be intimidated. The verse above says God is with us wherever we go, so we need not fear. He has sent us to preach the word to all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). He will ensure that you are safe and give you the anointing to fulfill the mission.
Revelations 2:10
Fear none of the things which thou shalt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days; be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
The devil hates Christians, he is at work 24/7 to distract us and pull us into his kingdom, Ephesians 6:11-12 says:
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
If god were to open our eyes to see what happens in the spiritual realm, we would be terrified. God is with us so we need not fear
Seek to glorify God in all you do
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I desires of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.
In the verse above the Psalmist is expressing the desires to glorify God at all times. The Lord loves it when we dwell in His presence always. One of the major reasons God created man is to have fellowship with his. As we dwell in His presence frequently we glorify His name and prove that whatever he does abides forever.
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven:
Give to the poor, help the afflicted, show love for one another and love God with all your heart, all your mind and with all your soul when you do this you glorify your father in heaven.
Meditate on the words of this song and make it real in your life by the help of the Holy Spirit:
Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in one
All His wonders compassion and purity
Oh thou spirit divine
All my nature refine
Till the beauty of
Jesus be seen in me
Ameen
