HEBREWS 11: 1, 6
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things Not seen.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God, must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Faith is a very important element in the life of a Christian. It takes faith to believe and accept the gift of Salvation. Without faith you cannot accept the word of God and act on it. It also takes faith to be able to convince someone to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savoir.
Hebrews 11:6 says it is impossible to please God if you do not have faith. Why? To be able to please God you must:
– Obey His commands
Deuteronomy 28:1-2
– Spread the gospel
Psalm 96:3
2 Timothy 4:2
– Prepare for Christ’s coming
Joel 2:32
Revelations 22:7
OBEY HIS COMMANDS
Deuteronomy 28:1-2
And it shall come to pass, if thou shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord and to do all His commandments which I command ,thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shall harken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
It takes faith to believe that the word of God is true and faith to obey it. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 and John 15:7 all indicates that once you obey God’s Commands you find favour with Him and He will bless you abundantly and give you whatever you ask for.
If you want God to bless you, you must obey His commands, all of them. You do not only have to obey those that suit or favor you. Everyone of them is important.
SPREAD THE GOSPEL
Psalm 96:3
Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people.
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
To be able to preach and declare the works of God, you have to study the word, believe and accept it as being powerful and having the ability to save. It takes faith to do this. As the verse quoted from Hebrews 11:6 says, it takes faith to please God.
As a young man or woman determine in your heart to study the word and share it with as many people as possible. Reaching every soul with the message of Salvation, is God’s greatest desire. These were Jesus’s last words: to go out and make disciples of all nations………. (Matthew 28:19-20).
PREPARE FOR CHRIST’S COMING
Joel 2:32
And he shall call on the name of the Lord and shall be delivered; in mount Zion and Jerusalem shall be deliverance as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.
Revelations 22:7 Behold, I come quickly; blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
Apart from the two quoted above, there are several other verses in the old and new testament that talks about the second coming of Jesus. It is the last great prophecy in the bible yet to be fulfilled.
It takes faith to believe and accept this prophecy and prepare for it. Everything we do each day should prepare us for this event. We need to:
– Live to please God by obeying His commands.
– We have to spread the gospel
– And we need to prepare for the second coming of Jesus.
All the 3 things listed above are very important to God and we need to work on them.
