YEA AND AMEN

YEA AND AMEN

By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson

2 Corinthians 1:18-20

As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waver between” yes “and “no”. for Jesus Christ, the son of God, does not waver between “yes’ and ‘no”. He is the one whom Silas, Timothy and I preach to you, and as God’s ultimate “yes”, He always does what he says.

Another translation says, for all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “yes”! and through Christ our ‘Amen” (which means “yes’) ascends to God for his glory.

According to the verse above the word “yea” and the word “Amen” have the same meaning

 “yes”. The use of these two words in the same verse (2 corinthians1:20) is a confirmation of the fact that whatever that God has promised to give us (God promises) is without any doubt ours.

Some people might ask, Isaiah 53:5 says by his stripes we are healed. I prayed for healing but I was not healed. These are questions we cannot answer as humans.

The bible says in Isaiah 55:8 that!

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord.

What we can do as humans is to:

 Simply keep trusting

 Psalm 27:13-14

 Ephesians 3:20

 Believe God always gives the best answer

 Jeremiah 29;11

 Romans 8:28

 Keep watching and praying

 Jeremiah 33:3

 Ephesians 6:18

 1 Thessalonians 5:17

 Give thanks in everything

 Psalm 100:4-5

 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Simply keep trusting

Psalm 27:13-14

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the lord.

There are times we wait for the move of God on our behalf for so long that we are ready to give up for faint. But the psalmist encourages us to be courageous and wait patiently for the Lord. He will certainly come through at the appointed time. Do not lose hope or give up. Just keep trusting

Ephesians 3:20

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us God can do all things.

Jeremiah 32:29

Says there is nothing we can think that is too hard for him to do. He has supernatural and excessive powers to do all things.

We lose hope and give up because God timing is not the same as that of humans. Bible says in psalm 19:4 that a thousand years in God’s sight is like a day.

There is no need to be alarmed about God’s timing, He knows our weakness and would not stretch us beyond our limits. Just keep trusting.

Believe God always gives the best answers

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the truth that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

In some translation it says to give you the future you hope for everyone hopes for the best in future.

Therefore, if God says he will give you the future you hope for, then he will give you the best.

Do not worry, if your situation now is not the best you can think of.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all thigs work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. No matter how helpless you feel or how hopeless h situation looks, God can and will fix it. Keep trusting, praying and offering thanks for the victory god will give you.

Keep watching and praying.

Jeremiah 33;3

Call unto me, and I will answer thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not

This verse implies that God is ever ready to listen to our prayers. It does not matter when you call or how many times you call. He will still answer. God will answer and provide directions through his word or through other believers and men and women of God.

Ephesians 6:18

Praying always with all prayer and supplications in the spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

The verse above directs us o pray at all times in good and bad situations. Not only for ourselves but for other believers as well. The keyword in this verse is “always” do not get tired not praying.

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing

Meaning prayer should be part of your daily activities. It’s should be a habit. You do not always have to pray in a quiet place away from all noise and disturbances.

Sometimes to pray even when you are in the middle of an important meeting and you need direction. A quick “help me lord” silently will do. God will provide the help you need.

Give thanks in everything

Psalm 100:4-5

Enter into his gate with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name for lord is good, and his truth endureth to all generations. The verse above tells us why we have to give thanks to God. Because he is good and merciful(kindness) he is always available when we need it. It moves from one generation to next. It will never end or ceases even when you have not received an answer to your prayer, keep thanking God. wait patiently with expectation of him to move on our behalf.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

In everything give thanks. For this is then will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

God expects us to thank him always even when all is not well. Being thankful in unpleasing situations, reminding God of His promise in the bible and the blessings he has bestowed on you makes God to act on your behalf.

Meditate on the words of this song!

God never fails

He never fails

God never fails

He abides with me

He gives me victory

God never fails

Just keep the faith

And never cease to pray

Just walk upright

Morning, noon day and night

And he will be there

He will be there

There is no need to worry

For God never fails.
